Inspiring Story of a Father and Son: Patrick John and Patrick Henry Hughes

This is an inspiring story about a unique father-son relationship. The first time I heard their story, I was deeply moved by the father’s love and commitment to his son.

The dad works a graveyard shift — 11pm to 6am — so that he can accommodate his son’s schedule.

But that’s not all.

As you will see in the video, this dad gives us a wonderful example — perhaps more extreme than mine or yours — about what it truly means to prioritize our family, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. It involves sacrifice, denying self of comfort and “status quo,” but also much joy and greater blessing than we can imagine.

Chris Klicka: A Great Family Dad Leaves Us A Powerful Message

A great Family Dad finished his earthly life last week… in the prime of fatherhood.

On October 12th, Chris Klicka, a 48-year-old faithful husband and father to 7 children, passed away after a 15-year battle with the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis.

His life, his commitment to his family, and his vocational work were an inspiration to many and a blessing to those who knew Chris personally.

Chris worked as an attorney for Homeschool Legal Defense Assn. and helped many families who faced obstacles exercising their right to homeschool.

This past June — just 4 months before his death — Chris was interviewed about his physical struggle and how he dealt with his feelings and suffering with MS. His attitude was amazing. The words he shared leave us dads with a profound message on suffering, discouragement, pain, priorities, and the brevity of life.

Dad Video: Duct Tape Dad

“Duct Tape Dad” is a true story that will encourage dads to continue doing all those little things we think our children never notice or appreciate. We really are impacting their lives, even when we don’t think we are. So keep loving and enjoying them day in and day out! And when they’re grown up, they’ll have memories of their dad like this one.

Dad Video: Letter to Dad from grateful college daughter

Today’s video for dads is quite frankly, a tear-jerker… for which I make no apologies! It is called “A Letter to My Dad” and consists of words every dad would love to hear.

A daughter in college sends a “video letter” to her dad thanking him for his patient, persistent love in her life over the years, even in the midst of her disagreements with him, and she reflects on their special relationship which has grown closer over the years. This is a very powerful message of encouragement and tenderness. Fellow dads, take 3 minutes to watch it! It will touch you.
