Trace Adkins Song: You’re Gonna Miss This

Every once in a while, a song with a powerful message for us dads comes along.

Trace Adkins recorded the song “You’re Gonna Miss This” that spent a lot of time at #1 on the charts for good reason.

Maybe you’ve heard it?

It’s a message reminding us parents how quickly our children grow up, and how soon we’re going to miss them and all those moments when they were young.

My wife and I both got blurry eyes the first time we heard this song.

The lyrics to the chorus are:

You’re gonna miss this.

You’re gonna want this back.

You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast.

These are some good times,

So take a good look around.

You may not know it now,

but you’re gonna miss this.

Below is Trace Adkins singing this song at the Grand Ole Opry. It’s a great song to listen to again — like on one of those days when being a parent isn’t, shall we say, so much fun.

Family “Soaking” Worship Music: Julie True Healing Love CD

Most dads I know have different musical tastes than their wife.

When I was dating my wife, she was convinced that we were not compatible because our musical tastes were so opposite.

She preferred the softer, reflective, soothing sounds of artists like Twila Paris, while I liked to crank up “louder” music to feel the bass and drums in my chest.

Some of you dads reading this will know exactly what I’m talking about.

We still joke about it to this day. And I confess… I still try to convince my kids that music sounds better when it’s louder. :-)

But we’ve both learned the all-important lesson when it comes to spouses and music…

C-o-m-p-r-o-m-i-s-e! With a capital “C”! And we respect each other now when it comes to our differences in what we each enjoy in music.

But I would venture to guess this difference in musical tastes is stereotypical of most spouses.

Actually, there is one CD that we both really like to listen to, called Healing Love by Julie True.

It is one that I highly recommend for families… meaning that it’s great for all ages. It’s great for going to sleep at night, for listening during your prayer time or personal worship time, for moments of reflection on God, or anytime you just need an atmosphere of rest.

Julie True Healing Love CDSome refer to Julie True’s Healing Love CD as “soaking” music because they just feel like they are soaking in God’s presence and love while listening to it.

It was recorded by a “soccer mom” who simply sat down at a keyboard, closed her eyes, and just began worshipping God and letting Him minister through her hands and voice.

You can listen to Julie’s CD Healing Love at http://www.dadresources.com/Healing-Love-Audio-CD-by-Julie-True_p_80.html

P.S. – This CD also makes a great gift for your spouse, a friend, a family member, or co-worker. Or anyone you know who may be going through a difficult season in their life and needs to know God’s peace and “healing love” for them.
