FamilyDads is a non-denominational ministry to families. Launched in early 2008 by Joey and Judy Watkins, parents of 4 children themselves, the mission of FamilyDads is to encourage, challenge, and support dads in their role as husband, father, and servant leader of their family. In tandem with this is Judy’s desire to encourage wives in supporting their husbands as leader of the family.

Prior to launching FamilyDads, Joey served in various roles in operations, marketing, accounting, and sales at brick-and-morter companies, ministries, churches, and online ventures. Joey and his family currently reside in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

In 2007, Joey came to a deep realization of his own huge “father power” and his heart was turned toward his children at a deeper level than ever before. This was very evident to his family and greatly impacted his wife Judy and their family in a positive way.

Strategy

FamilyDads currently uses a 3-part strategy to serve families:

1. To help fathers discover the amazing power of their relationship with their sons and daughters and the tremendous influence they have in their children’s lives and destinies.

2. This discovery of “father power” leads to the turning of a father’s hearts to his children.

3. Once a father’s heart is turned to his children, he desires to be equipped to successfully lead his immediate family during the “child-raising years” as well as have long-lasting postive impact (sometimes referred to as “legacy”) into future generations of his family.
